Project: Flower

In this project I studied the artist, Georgia O’Keefe. The focus of flowers in this topic really allowed me to improve my use of acrylic paint and to get a better understanding of colour theory. I started by taking photos of different photos and analysing them. I then chose my images to edit and sketch out. After this I caried out my final piece. I believe this project was successful as it was not a replicate of my chosen artist but an inspiration.

Project: Ant Carver

In this project I studied a graffiti artist from London called Ant Carver. I was really intrigued by his use of graffiti for large emotive murals whilst also incorporating acrylic paints to add fine details to his work. Getting to use a new media, spray paints, in this project allowed me to experiment new techniques in how to complete my final piece. In my final piece, I used a size A1 canvas, and used the spray paints to create the dripping effect in the background of my piece. The contrast between the brightly coloured graffiti and grey scale facial features was an abstract style of Ant Carver’s, a link you can see between him and my final piece.

Makeup Gallery

This is a collection of experiments with makeup. I enjoyed creating SFX looks with homemade scar wax. The makeup chart/mood board is how I start my makeup looks, with inspirations and rough guide as to where I want the piece to go, and you can see how I turn this into actual pieces through my bacteria inspired look.

Project: Thomas Sailot

In this project I studied the artist, Thomas Saliot. I was really interested by the painters’ use of bright colours to bring focus to his portraits. As my overall theme for my course was ‘Reflection’, this artist was a perfect choice as you can really see the emotion conveyed in each piece. I made sure to take photos which allowed me to carry out experiments with different medias and emotions. My practice piece for this project was unsuccessful as I believe it did not reflect Saliot in any way. However my final piece was my favourite I completed in the course. It was painted on a wooden A1 board, and I used both normal and neon acrylic paints to add a lot of colour to my piece. This was my most successful project, in my eyes, as I managed to show emotion on a large sale whilst keeping to my chosen

This is a collection of drawings of paintings in my sketch book. I have used a range of different medias to complete these, from HB pencils to oil paints. In the sunset painting, I experimented with lighting and how to add the rays from the sun realistically whilst keeping to my brightly coloured theme of the overall painting.

Project: Thomasz Mrozkiewic

Project: Tomasz Mrozkiewic

In this project I studied a watercolour artist called Tomasz Mrozkiewicz. This was a new style for me as I had not used watercolour in the course. I experimented a lot with Adobe Photoshop trying to gain different colour edits of a photo I had taken. As I had not previously worked with a difficult media like watercolour, I struggled to create a piece that was successful in both skill and reflection of my artist. I believe my final piece was not successful as it was rushed and the technique in the anatomy of the face was incorrect. However this project was important for me to reflect on my mistakes to help me develop my skills further.
